  • Abbey Farms

    This tiny 2-acre farm run by Pat and John Becker is home to about 30 goats that roam the pasture, feeding on grass for half the day, and are then moved indoors and are supplemented with grain (a mix of corn and oats). They receive no hormones or antibiotics. You can purchase the USDA processed, cut and frozen chevon (shoulder chops and loin chops) at the Gloversville and Johnstown Farmers’ Markets. Other products include free-range eggs, vegetables, whole grain breads, muffins and other whole-grain items. Call to schedule visits.

    The Amsterdam Farmers Market was established in 2014 to provide farm fresh produce and locally produced products to city residents with few food options. We are located at: The Walter Elwood Museum 100 Church Street-Rt 67 Amsterdam, NY 12010 The original Amsterdam farm and food market. Vendor fees are $10 a week-4 week minimum. The market runs every Saturday 10AM-2PM May through September.

  • Bellinger’s Apple Orchard

    The Winnie/Bellinger farm has been in the same family since 1804. The orchard originated in 1930 by Furman and Mildred Bellinger, parents of Tom Bellinger. Tom and Betty bought the farm from his parents in 1963. They decided to plant more trees and started the pick-your-own operation. Since 1998, Tom and his son-in-law have been adding newer varieties for a current total of 30 kinds of apples for pick-your-own. The farm market includes ready-picked apples, fresh sweet cider, homemade cider donuts, honey, maple syrup, cheese, and other local NYS products. Featuring a challenging five-acre themed corn maze, children’s hay maze, large pumpkin patch and a picnic area with incredible views of the countryside. Open daily September through mid-November rain or shine.
