Winter in Montgomery County, NY

The winter season in Montgomery County is a time of cross-country skiing, ice skating, sledding, snowmobiling, and holiday activities.

Montgomery County offers approximately 200 miles of snowmobile trails with over 65 miles of NYS corridor snowmobile trails. Trails maintained and groomed December 15-March 1 (weather permitting). Most trails exceed 8 feet wide. Marked and well maintained. For information about county snowmobiling associations, log onto http://www.nyssnowassoc.org/.

Traditional family holiday events are held throughout the County with concerts, caroling, shopping, pictures with Santa, colonial music, storytelling, and homemade goods celebrating our Mohawk Valley heritage! Winter workshops and lecture series are another seasonal highlight.
