The summer brings a variety of attractions, outdoor events, and concerts; it is the time for gathering and enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery. Festivals with crafts, food, games, rides, music, and firework displays are some of Montgomery County’s greatest attributes in the summer. The concert series offers a variety of bands and soloists that play folk music, blues, and jazz.
Canal Days is a chance to rediscover history, learn about wildlife, experience an adventure, enjoy music and entertainment, and have a chance to celebrate our canal heritage! The Amsterdam Mohawks are a member of the New York Collegiate Baseball League playing in June and July. Each game is themed providing hours of family fun at Shuttleworth Park. Parkfest is a summer highlight pairing Amsterdam Mohawk baseball games with a giant fireworks display, food, music, and much more.
The summer also brings outdoor recreation as boating, fishing, water skiing, hiking, golfing, and biking. The farm markets are in full swing with fresh fruits, vegetables, jellies, jams, crafts, and other local products.
