The Palatine Settlement Society will hold its 13th Annual Antique Show inside the Great Hall at the Arkell Museum at Canajoharie on Saturday, March 3rd from 10:00am to 4:00pm. All proceeds will go directly to the restoration and continued preservation of the historic 1747 Nellis Tavern. Admission is $5.00.

This show offers a range of quality antiques and collectibles from over two dozen friendly and knowledgeable dealers who will be exhibiting and selling items such as furniture, quilts, books, tools, postcards, paintings, toys, china, jewelry and more.

Also, if you have something you would like appraised, George Heigle will be offering verbal appraisals on antique items for the price of $5.00 per item. There will be a selection of homemade sandwiches, soups and desserts available for purchase during the show.

The 1747 Nellis Tavern is one of the many Mohawk Valley historic treasures. It is located on Rt 5 in St. Johnsville and features some of the best remaining examples of early American wall stenciling. The site is open every Sunday from 1pm to 4pm, June through September or for special events.

Join the circa 1729 Dutch homestead for our delicious 6th Annual Chili Cook-off Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.! Taste over a dozen of the best chili donated by our local celebrities – from ministers to mayors to principals to local restaurants. Judging will commence at 3:00 p.m., and prizes will be awarded for best traditional chili, most creative chili and fan favorite. Music provided by the Jan Cronkhite Trio featuring: Jan Cronkhite (saxophone), Ira Meltzer (grand piano), and Laurie Stewart (vocalist) in our century old ballroom. There will be a 50/50 raffle and guided tours will be available for the museum. Spirits provided by the Fort Rensselaer Club. Admission: $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 10 years of age. The Van Alstyne Homestead & Museum is a volunteer organization. Your participation helps preserve this piece of history nestled in the beautiful Mohawk Valley.
